About Xbox Emulator

Xbox Emulator (xbx-emulator.com) is an independent resource for downloading xemu, a free, open-source emulator that plays Original Xbox games on Windows, macOS and Linux. The goal of this site is to be the clearest place to download xemu and understand what it does - which files it needs, how to set it up and how to get your Original Xbox library running on a modern computer.

This is not the official xemu website. The download links here point to the genuine release files published by the project; nothing is repackaged or wrapped in a custom installer. xemu is developed publicly by Matt Borgerson and a community of contributors, is based on the QEMU and XQEMU projects and is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2. You can review the project, its source code and its releases on the official xemu repository.

Privacy

This site is intentionally simple. It is a static informational website that does not run analytics, ad networks, tracking pixels or third-party advertising scripts, and it does not set tracking cookies or collect personal data from visitors. There are no accounts to create and no forms that store your information on this site.

Downloads are hosted by GitHub rather than served from this site, so selecting a download link sends your request to GitHub, whose own privacy practices then apply. Standard server logs maintained by the hosting provider may record routine technical information (such as IP address and user agent) for security and operational purposes, as is normal for any website.

xemu is provided free of charge under the GNU General Public License v2, on an “as-is” basis and without warranty of any kind. This site does not host or provide a BIOS, MCPX boot ROM, hard disk image or game files. Emulation is legal, but the boot ROM, BIOS and games you use are a separate matter - you are responsible for using xemu only with files you have legally dumped from an Original Xbox you own, and for following the laws that apply where you live.

Xbox and all related names and trademarks are the property of Microsoft Corporation and are used here only to describe the software and the console it emulates.
